OCALA, Fla. (CW44 News At 10)– A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Wendell Doyle Goney (51, Mount Dora) with possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and destruction of aircraft. If convicted of both counts, Goney faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison. The indictment also notifies Goney that the United States intends to forfeit a rifle and ammunition allegedly used in the commission of the offenses. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CW44 News At 10)– Daniel Alan Baker, 34, of Tallahassee, Florida was sentenced to forty-four months in federal prison for two counts of transmitting a communication in interstate commerce containing a threat to kidnap or injure another person. The sentence was announced by Jason R. Coody, Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. Child Tax Credit: How To Opt Out Of Monthly Payments
(CBS Detroit) — Most parents will receive their next Child Tax Credit payment on October 15. The monthly checks of up to $300 per child will continue through the end of 2021. And up to $1,800 more per child will arrive at tax time next year. The amount of each parent’s total deposit depends on their annual income, the number of children and the ages of those children. When added together, the money may add up to more than any of the first three stimulus checks. But what if a parent wants to opt out of these advance payments in favor of a one-time payment?

Child Tax Credit: When Is Your October Payment Coming?
(CBS Detroit) — The fourth Child Tax Credit payment from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) goes out soon. But parents want to know when exactly the money will be deposited. Last month’s check came on September 15 for those with direct deposit, or soon after for those who received it through the mail. This month’s payment will be sent on Friday, October 15. Advance payments will continue next month and the following month, thanks to the American Rescue Plan passed back in March. Though another stimulus check seems unlikely at this point, Democratic lawmakers are looking to extend the advance Child Tax Credit through 2025.
