BALTIMORE-- Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was not injured in a car crash while driving to the Under Armor Performance Center Wednesday morning.

The team said Andrews was evaluated by medical staff at the training facility and did not sustain any injuries.

The crash happened around 9:45 a.m. on Lyons Mill Road in Owings Mills. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, police said.

Andrews was originally scheduled to have a non-practice day on Wednesday and is expected to return to practice in the coming days, the Ravens said.

Andrews, who later joined the team for morning meetings, made a statement following the incident.

"I appreciate everyone's thoughts and well wishes. This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving a car," Andrews said.

Andrews is a three-time Pro Bowl player who was drafted by the Ravens in the third round in 2018 out of Oklahoma.

He played in 10 games last season and caught 45 passes for 544 yards and six touchdowns. He missed several weeks recovering from an ankle injury.
