A Claremont homeowner was visited by an unwelcome guest late Friday evening when a bear broke into their house while they were in the midst of making cookies. Police who were called to the scene of the house, located near Via Montevideo Street and N. Mountain Avenue, say that there was some damage done to window screens, according to the Claremont Police Department.No one was injured during the incident, police said. After making its way into the home, the bear returned to the woods where he came from without any further incident.

The Los Angeles Police Department was in pursuit of a stolen Alfa Romeo sports car.The driver hit dangerously high speeds while weaving through traffic on the 110 Freeway. The suspect exited the highway near downtown Los Angeles and entered a parking garage.It took several minutes until patrol units arrived at the entrance of the Pershing Square parking complex.

A man in Hollywood Hills hid inside the bathroom as he waited for police to stop home invaders from ransacking his home Friday night. The horrifying ordeal happened at about 10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Sierra Alta Way, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The suspects smashed through the man's back window to break into his home. He ran upstairs and locked himself in the bathroom while they walked through his multi-million-dollar house. The two suspects left before officers arrived.

A Metro bus became a crime scene after a passenger grabbed the driver by the neck and choked her, according to the police. Investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department said the driver activated the silent alarm to alert police. They tracked the suspect down and arrested him about four blocks away from the bus. "I was walking here and I saw this guy trying to get on the bus," witness David Fitch recalled.
