Man arrested for shooting his sister to death in Riverside 00:24

Prosectors are expected to file felony charges against the Riverside man who shot and killed his sister as she left work last week.

The shooting happened at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11 outside of a business in the 6900 block of Jurupa Avenue, according to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.

At that time, Riverside Police Department officers arrived to find 45-year-old Adrienne Johnson dead at the scene.

On Friday, 51-year-old David Johnson was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder and recklessly discharging a firearm, prosecutors said.

"David exited his car, shot Adrienne multiple times and fled," said RPD Public Information Officer Ryan Railsback in a statement.

During their preliminary investigation, detectives were able to identify David Johnson as the alleged shooter and obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody at around 10 a.m. on Friday on Phoenix Avenue, police said.

They have not yet released information on a motive in the shooting.
