Stanton senior center honors 15 residents with centenarian celebration 01:00

It appears there might be something in the water at the Rowntree Gardens Senior Living Center in Stanton, where 15 residents were celebrated on Friday for reaching the incredible age of 100 years old.

Each of the individuals, with countless memories, experience and wisdom, were treated to a ceremony in front of their friends and families, receiving a Centenarian Certificate and bouquet of flowers.

"This is terrific," said one of the 100-year-olds. "It really is, I've never heard of it before. You know, all these people — it gives you a little more life."

A local artist also dedicated a piece to the center called "The One Where Everyone Is Over 100 Years Old." The painting, based on the sitcom "Friends," shows of the 15 celebrants participating in something they love.

"We are profoundly honored to celebrate these 15 centenarians who have witnessed and shaped a century of history. Their lives are a powerful reminder of the strength and beauty of the human spirit, and this event is our way of expressing our deepest gratitude and admiration for their contributions," said. Gina Climer, Community Activities Director of Rowntree Gardens.
