Firefighters working to contain massive fire at vacant building in Panorama
Firefighters are working to contain a large fire burning at a vacant building in Panorama City. The blaze was first reported just after 12:35 p.m. in the 14600 block of W. Roscoe Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Large plumes of black smoke could be seen escaping from ventilation in the roof of the split-level building, which firefighters say used to be a former Montgomery Ward furniture store. Friends and family members are reportedly concerned as he suffers from dementia. He should be wearing a medical alert, they say. He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and black pants. Baca was the sheriff from 1998 to 2014. He was sentenced to federal prison in 2017 for obstructing an investigation being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding abuse in LA County jails. 1 dead, 2 injured after violent crash in Signal Hill
One person is dead and two others were injured during a violent two-car collision in Signal Hill on Sunday. The crash happened at around 5:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Cherry Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. They arrived to find two cars suffering from severe damage and paramedics rushed two victims to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known. Man fatally wounded in officer-involved shooting in South LA
An investigation was underway in South Los Angeles following a fatal officer-involved shooting prior to a related pursuit.
