Victim airlifted following crash near Monticello on Interstate 94

MONTICELLO, Minn. — A 20-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash early Friday morning in the northwest metro.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just before 6 a.m. on westbound Interstate 94 near Monticello.

The victim, from Grandy, went off the roadway, struck the central median and rolled. She wasn't wearing her seat belt.

She was airlifted to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

The crash shut down both westbound lanes for about an hour, MnDOT said.
