UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) — Police are looking for two suspects wanted in a carjacking and shooting in Upper Darby on Thursday afternoon.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said a shot was fired during the carjacking in the 7100 block of West Chester Pike. Bernhardt said the bullet struck a SEPTA bus, but no one was hit by gunfire.

Bernhardt said two suspects came up to a car with a father and two kids inside. According to Bernhardt, a scuffle ensued, and a 5-year-old child got out of the vehicle while a 2-month-old was still in the car.

The two suspects ditched the car about three blocks away, where police recovered it with the 2-month-old inside, Bernhardt said.

The family is OK, police said.

Police are searching for the two suspects and believe one is armed and took off toward the Cobbs Creek golf course.

Officers from Philadelphia and other nearby communities are assisting Upper Darby police, Bernhardt said.

"We're looking actively in the golf course for this male right now," he said.

The incident led to the closure of West Chester Pike's westbound lanes from Keystone Avenue to State Road. All lanes reopened around 5 p.m.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
