Man dead, another injured in crash on Kelly Drive, police say

Philadelphia's Kelly Drive closed after 1 dead in multi-car crash near Strawberry Mansion 00:21

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Kelly Drive in Philadelphia reopened after being shut down in both directions Thursday evening after a fatal crash, police said.

Police said a white Nissan Rogue, a black Nissan Altima and a black BMW collided at the intersection on Kelly Drive near Reservoir Drive at around 3:22 p.m. near the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

A 41-year-old man was taken to Temple University Hospital by medics and was pronounced dead a little after 4 p.m., police said. A 44-year-old man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center also by medics. He's expected to be OK.

Chopper 3 was over the scene just before 6 p.m. when there were at least three damaged cars, several police vehicles and emergency crews.
