PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A road rage shooting and crash on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia shut down the highway for nearly two hours while police investigated Tuesday morning.

The incident led to the closure of the northbound lanes of I-95 between the Philadelphia International Airport and South Philadelphia Sports Complex shortly before 10:30 a.m.

According to investigators, the driver of a Gold Oldsmobile sedan and the driver of a black pickup truck were involved in a road rage incident near mile marker 15.3 when the driver of the Oldsmobile fired multiple shots toward the black pickup.

The two cars continued north on I-95 when the black pickup truck and the Oldsmobile crashed near mile marker 16.2, police said. The black truck then crashed into a third vehicle, a Ford Escape.

The Oldsmobile sustained disabling damage from the crash.

Meanwhile, investigators are looking for the black pickup truck which continued north on I-95. Police say the truck was towing a trailer.

It's unclear if the driver of the Oldsmobile was taken into custody.

Traffic on I-95 was backed up for miles Tuesday and police worked to turn some of the cars around to get them off the highway. All lanes reopened shortly after 12:30 p.m.
