3 dead, several injured in shooting in West Philadelphia, police say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Three people died and six others were injured in a shooting at a large gathering early Sunday morning in the Carroll Park section of West Philadelphia, police said. Police responded to a call about gunshots shortly after 2 a.m. on the 1200 block of North Alden Street. A 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and two other men died at local hospitals, according to police.Police said there appear to be multiple shooters. Several cars were also struck by gunfire, police said. Police recovered one gun from the scene, and homicide detectives are investigating; they don't have much information on the shooters, police said.This is a developing story and will be updated.

Garret Gourley's 3D model was built entirely out of LEGOs and he dedicated nearly 100 hours to building the replica of the home of the Nittany Lions. The LEGO Beaver Stadium will be unveiled on Saturday, July 27 at the Penn State All-Sports Museum at 10:15 a.m. After it's unveiling, it will remain on permanent display in the museum's lobby. DARBY BOROUGH, Pa. (CBS) — Two Delaware County police officers are being recognized for their heroism. Camden County Boy Scouts heading home from St. Croix due to global tech outage canceling flight
STRATFORD, N.J. (CBS) — A group of Boy Scouts from Camden County is on the way home Saturday after being stranded in Saint Croix.Troop 122 landed in the Virgin Islands on July 12. The children, who range in age from 11 to 17, spent the last week earning merit badges and practicing lifesaving skills while staying at a 17-acre seafront campground called Camp Howard M. Wall.The scouts' flight to Philadelphia was supposed to leave on Friday but got canceled because of the global tech outage. The scouts were told it could be a week before they could get on another flight.Scoutmaster Stacey White said he's relieved that Spirit Airlines was able to add a flight so the group could leave Saturday night. The troop is scheduled to arrive at Philadelphia International Airport early Sunday morning."Very happy," White said. "It's a lot of responsibility having 30-some kids knowing that they're running out of their medications and some of them, when they're out of medications, have withdrawal symptoms — whatever it is, it was not going to be pretty."White said he got a phone call from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, who wanted to make sure the children were OK.
1-year-old girl dead, 2 women injured after hit by car in Feltonville neighborhood
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A one-year-old girl died and two women were injured after getting hit by a car while crossing the street in Philadelphia's Feltonville neighborhood Saturday night.Police said the incident happened at the intersection of North Front Street and East Wyoming Avenue a little before 9 p.m.The three were crossing westbound on Wyoming Avenue when they were hit by a car going northbound on Front Street, authorities said.The one-year-old girl was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital by medics and she was later pronounced dead at 9:32 p.m.Police said the two women, a 31-year-old and a young adult, were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and are expected to be OK."The scene of the crash is being held by police for investigation," according to the release.

Suspect in custody in shooting of 7-month-old boy in Holmesburg, police say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A suspect in the shooting of an infant in Philadelphia's Holmesburg neighborhood was arrested Friday evening.Police said the woman was taken into custody in Oxford Circle.The parents of the 7-month-old boy were also arrested Thursday night on burglary warrants, according to police.The 7-month-old was shot Thursday night in his thigh in the area of Frankford Avenue and Meridian Street.Police believe he was hit by stray gunfire from a semi-automatic weapon.
