2 senior House Democrats believe Biden could leave race in days
Two senior House Democrats tell CBS News they believe that President Biden could leave the 2024 presidential race in three to five days, after a pressure campaign from top lawmakers in his own party, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. WAYNE, Pa. (CBS) – The soccer community is buzzing with excitement over Cavan Sullivan's historic debut with the Philadelphia Union. At 14 years old, Sullivan became the youngest player to appear in Major League Soccer when he entered Wednesday's game at Subaru Park.Sullivan is an inspiration to many, including the dozens of children who are taking part in a youth soccer camp at YSC Sports in Wayne, Montgomery County."He [Sullivan] is so young and he's on the professional team because he's really talented," 7-year-old Daniel Gazdag Jr. from Conshohocken said. Family mourns death of man who died rescuing 2 children from drowning in NJ
MAYS LANDING, N.J. (CBS) -- A Mays Landing family is mourning the death of a soon-to-be grandfather and hero, who authorities credit for rescuing two boys from drowning at an Atlantic County park.Pablo Hernandez, 49, died after suffering critical injuries during the rescue Wednesday.Joe Pagliuca, Hernandez's brother-in-law, described Hernandez as "selfless.""[To] put yourself in a situation to save two children, and then to save them, only to have something happen to you that you can't come out yourself is just incredible," Pagliuca said. 7-month-old baby boy shot while outside with parents in Holmesburg, Philly police say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 7-month-old baby boy was shot while sitting on the front lawn with his mother and father in Philadelphia's Holmesburg section on Thursday, police said. The shooting happened on the 4000 block of Meridian Street just before 6 p.m., according to police. The 7-month-old was shot in his thigh and taken to Nazareth Hospital by a neighbor, police said. He was then transferred to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and placed in stable condition. Police found two spent shell casings at the scene and believe the shots were fired from a semi-automatic weapon. They believe the baby was hit by stray gunfire. The mother and father of the baby weren't hit by the shots from the semi-automatic weapon. Police said surveillance video captured a man or woman with dreadlocks wearing a dark T-shirt and light blue jeans who fired the shots. The shooter was last seen running toward a driveway on the 4000 block of Meridian Street, according to police. The motive for the shooting isn't known at this time.

Nothing suspicious found at Borgata after man claimed he had guns, explosive device
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Atlantic City police didn't find anything suspicious at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa on Thursday night after receiving an anonymous call from a man claiming he had firearms and an explosive device inside the hotel. Police said they received the call just before 4 p.m.Officers and Borgata security conducted a sweep of the building, and parts of the hotel were evacuated out of an abundance of caution. People have since been let inside and law enforcement cleared the scene, police said. Police said the validity of the threat is under investigation. Man wanted for firing shots at delivery driver taken into custody in Northeast Philly, police say
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man who allegedly fired shots at a driver delivering for Amazon was taken into custody after he barricaded himself inside a home in Holmesburg, Philadelphia police said on Thursday. Police and SWAT set up a barricade outside the home on the 8300 block of Walker Street just after 2:15 p.m. and it lasted roughly two hours. There weren't any injuries reported, police said.
