Public hearings scheduled for customers to share feedback on Aqua's proposed price increases
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission will have several meetings to gather public input on the rate increases proposed by Aqua Pennsylvania Inc. (Aqua Water) and Aqua Pennsylvania Wastewater Inc. The meetings will allow customers to share how rate increases proposed by the companies would affect them. Under the proposals, the average monthly bill for a residential water customer using 3,870 gallons per month would increase by $16.10 (19.9%) from $80.91 to $97.01. 2025 Philadelphia Phillies schedule released, home opener vs. Colorado set for March 31
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The 2024 baseball season is far from over, but if you're already looking ahead to 2025, you're in luck: The Philadelphia Phillies' schedule for next year dropped Thursday. The Phillies will open the season against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park on March 27, 2025. After three games in Washington, the team will play the first home game of the year against the Colorado Rockies at Citizens Bank Park on March 31, 2025. In addition to three games against the Rockies, the Phillies' opening week at home also includes weekend games against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 4, 5 and 6."MLB's 2025 schedule features a terrific lineup for our fans," Phillies senior vice president of ticket operations & projects John Weber said. "The excitement begins at home on Monday, March 31, and continues with an action-packed April and May at Citizens Bank Park."Weber also noted that the Phillies will play at home on 14 weekends next summer and said that a "great promotional lineup" will be shared later. Driver injured after tree falls on car on I-476 in Delaware County
RADNOR, Pa. (CBS) — A driver was injured after a tree fell on their car in the northbound lanes of I-476 in Delaware County Thursday morning, according to state police.Pennsylvania State Police say the crash happened on Blue Route near West Chester Pike shortly after 11 a.m.According to state police, a red Toyota Rav4 was driving northbound on the highway when it was struck by a downed tree.The driver suffered injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, state police say.Two other cars were hit by debris from the tree, but state police say their occupants were not injured.I-476 northbound was operating at one travel lane but has since reopened. PennDOT said all debris have been cleared.

Atlantic City shelter looking for person who tossed dog over their fence
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- The Humane Society of Atlantic County is looking for a person they believe has repeatedly dumped dogs at their shelter.In a Facebook post from July 17, the HSAC shared surveillance video that shows one instance of a man walking over to the shelter and tossing a dog over the fence."This is the 4th dog dumped over our fence by this individual in the middle of the night," the post said. The HSAC said the female dog had "distinct scarring" on her back. A photo of the abandoned animal shared in the comments of the post shows she has two large patches of scarring on her back and near her shoulders.The shelter, which is located on Absecon Boulevard, didn't specify the dog's breed or approximate age.
