SANTA ROSA -- Roads around North Dutton Avenue in Santa Rosa were reopened on Saturday afternoon, following closures because of multiple spills of an unknown liquid from a truck.

The Santa Rosa Police Department said about 275 gallons of the unknown liquid spilled at about 10:45 a.m.

A hazmat team from the Santa Rosa Fire Department responded to what were described by the police department as multiple spills but the composition of the liquid was unknown, a police spokesperson said.

No evacuations were necessary, police said.

The spill was cleaned up by about 2 p.m., allowing traffic to resume flowing in the area.

The city of Santa Rosa Public Works Department, CalTrans and the California Highway Patrol assisted in the response.
