It's official. Jordan Chiles will have to return the floor exercise bronze medal she had won after a scoring inquiry at the Aug. 5 final for that event. The International Olympic Committee said Sunday that it will reallocate the medal to Romania's Ana Bărbosu, whom Chiles had passed in the standings via the inquiry that added one-tenth of a point to her score.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport on Saturday ruled that the scoring inquiry was submitted four seconds beyond the one-minute deadline and should not have been accepted.

The Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique amended the standings based on the CAS ruling and the IOC said in a statement that it would contact the U.S. Olympic Committee regarding the return of the medal and arrange a reallocation with the Romanians.

Chiles' post-inquiry 13.766 score -- which came after the United States asked for the difficulty of her routine to be reconsidered -- boosted her past Bărbosu and teammate Sabrina Voinea, who were tied at 13.700. Chiles' original score, 13.666, placed her fifth.

USA Gymnastics took to social media on Saturday after the CAS ruling went public, saying it was "devastated" and that the scoring inquiry had been filed "in good faith" and "in accordance with FIG rules to ensure accurate scoring."

The group reposted a Team USA photo of Chiles on Sunday with the caption "Forever THAT GIRL."
