Head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes continue to grab national headlines heading into the 2024 college football schedule. Coach Prime expressed lofty expectations when he took the job following the 2022 season, and now the Buffs enter year two under the Pro Football Hall of Famer with a projected regular season win total of 5.5 games. Sanders overhauled the Colorado football roster and Colorado football coaching staff during the offseason, but his top three players from 2023 -- quarterback Shedeur Sanders, safety Shilo Sanders, and two-way star Travis Hunter -- are all back for another season on the Colorado football roster.

Coach Prime's new staff has deep ties to the National Football League. Former NFL head coach Pat Shurmur is now the full-time offensive coordinator, and former Cincinnati Bengals secondary coach Robert Livingston is the Buffs' new defensive coordinator. Fellow Hall of Famer Warren Sapp is coaching the defensive line, and former NFL offensive tackle Phil Loadholt is the new offensive line coach. Can this new staff lead the Buffs to a bowl game in 2024? Top Colorado Buffaloes practice storylines

The Colorado offensive line took a beating on the field and in the media in 2023. Quarterback Shedeur Sanders was the most-sacked FBS quarterback and the Buffs ranked 130th averaging just 68.9 rushing yards per game. All five starters have since transferred or graduated, opening the door for an all new starting offensive line in 2024.

The Colorado football offensive line will feature one of the top recruits in program history in Jordan Seaton. The former five-star recruit is slated to start at left tackle for the Buffaloes as a true freshman. Seaton will be joined by a slew of transfers including Tyler Johnson (Houston) and Kahlil Benson (Indiana). Another priority for the Buffs this offseason was improving the team's rushing attack. Colorado started the season out with a bang, but their running game was virtually non-existent down the stretch in 2023. The Buffs averaged just 68.9 rushing yards and 2.3 yards per carry in 2023 -- both numbers ranked dead last in the FBS. Running backs Dylan Edwards, Anthony Hankerson, Sy'veon Wilkerson, and Alton McCaskill all transferred, leaving former walk-on Charlie Offerdahl as the only returning player involved in the team's running back competition.

One player who has impressed during fall camp is Ohio State transfer Dallan Hayden. "I can block, can catch and run in-between or outside the tackles," Hayden told BuffStampede. "So I feel like I am an every down back. I'm very eager. A big point for me this year is just to show people I am still the back that was playing my freshman year at Ohio State."
