Scottie Scheffler has been touted as a future superstar since his days as an amateur in Texas, but over the last 30 months, his stardom has risen in a way that we've rarely seen before. He earned his first victory at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open and now he enters the 2024 Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club as the No. 1 player in the world for the last 67 weeks, a 12-time PGA Tour winner, a two-time Masters champion and an Olympic gold medalist. However, he's still chasing a FedEx Cup championship that has eluded him the last two years.

Scheffler will begin the 2024 Tour Championship with a two-shot lead over Xander Schauffele as a reward for a six-win season and he's the +100 in the 2024 Tour Championship odds. However, he's been in the same position and failed to close the deal the last two seasons. Before locking in any 2024 Tour Championship picks, Scottie Scheffler props, or golf picks at sites like FanDuel, DraftKings, Underdog Fantasy, PrizePicks, or Pick6, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine .

Our proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up more than $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 13 majors entering the weekend, including the 2024 Masters -- its third Masters in a row -- and this year's PGA Championship and U.S. Open. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now with the Tour Championship 2024 locked in, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

    Top 2024 Tour Championship predictions

One surprise: Collin Morikawa (35-1) makes a strong run at the title. Morikawa has a much better chance to win than his long odds imply, so he's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. The 27-year-old from California will have a six-shot deficit to make up at the start of the tournament, but Rory McIlroy came from this exact position to win two seasons ago and McIlroy also came from five shots back to win the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup in 2019, so it is possible.

Morikawa was fourth in gross score at East Lake last season and he's been playing exceptional golf ever since. He won the 2023 Zozo Championship for his sixth career PGA Tour title in the fall and has added six top-five finishes in 2024, including a t-3rd at the Masters. East Lake was the home course of Bobby Jones, who designed Augusta National Golf Club and drew significant inspiration from the Atlanta-area country club when laying out Augusta.

The model has also examined where Scheffler (+100) finishes. Scheffler has been the dominant force in golf this year with six PGA Tour wins (including a second green jacket) and an Olympic gold medal, but this format doesn't exactly reward that dominance. He'll have just a two-shot lead over Schauffele and we've seen in recent years that advantage can evaporate quickly in a four-round tournament with no cuts.

Scheffler led the PGA Tour in total strokes gained per round (2.487) this year and his tremendous ball striking should be an asset at East Lake. However, it hasn't exactly translated, as he's finished 13th or worse over the four rounds at East Lake without starting strokes factored in each of the last three seasons. He's also finished outside the top 30 in two of his last six starts worldwide. The model just locked in its Scottie Scheffler Tour Championship picks here.

How to make 2024 Tour Championship picks

The model is also targeting four other golfers with odds of 28-1 or longer to make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model's picks here .
