Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels could climb the 2024 Fantasy football rankings after he stepped on the field for a preseason game completed a 42-yard pass on the first drive of his career. He added a three-yard rushing touchdown several plays later, showing why he is a popular pick to be one of the 2024 Fantasy football breakouts. Daniels is playing in a Washington offense that features running back Austin Ekeler and receiver Terry McLaurin, giving him the ability to live up to his 2024 Fantasy football projections. The Commanders also upgraded their offensive line in the offseason, another factor that has caused Daniels to shoot up the board in Fantasy football 2024. Top 2024 Fantasy football sleepers
One of the 2024 Fantasy football sleepers the model is predicting: Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. A second-round pick out of USC in the 2020 NFL Draft, Pittman emerged as the No. 1 receiver on the Colts roster in 2021 and he's averaged 99 catches and 1,053 yards with 14 total touchdowns in the three years since despite the fact that Indianapolis cycled through Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan and Gardner Minshew as its primary starters.
However, now he should have an opportunity to settle in with Anthony Richardson as the long-term starter and their rapport is already strong. Richardson targeted Pittman at least 11 times in each of the first three weeks of the season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 4. That expected workload is a big reason why the model likes Pittman over D.J. Moore and DK Metcalf, who are both being drafted a round earlier on average. Top 2024 Fantasy football breakouts
One of the 2024 Fantasy football breakouts the model is predicting: Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson. After 19 receptions as a rookie, Ferguson burst onto the scene with a 71-761-5 stat line as a sophomore in 2023. However, there's an even higher ceiling for him as he didn't produce much in the beginning of the year as he found his role in the offense. Ferguson ranked 17th in Fantasy points among tight ends through the first seven weeks but was the TE6 from Weeks 8 through 18.
He then saved his best for the postseason as he posted career-highs in receptions (10), yards (93) and touchdowns (three) in the Wild Card loss to the Packers. Ferguson is an integral part in the NFL's top-scoring offense, and outside of Prescott and Lamb, no Cowboys skill position player logged more snaps than Ferguson. The model has him as a top eight Fantasy tight end this year and puts him above Buffalo's Dalton Kincaid, despite the latter having an earlier Fantasy football 2024 ADP. Top 2024 Fantasy football busts
As for players to avoid, the model lists Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray as one of its 2024 Fantasy football busts. He has averaged 20.9 Fantasy points per game since entering the NFL in 2019, with his ceiling being a 2020 campaign in which he averaged 24.4 points per game. Murray has a career completion percentage of 66.6 and a career average of 7.0 yards per pass attempt.
Murray suffered a torn ACL that prematurely ended his 2022 season and delayed his first start of 2023 until Week 10. The Cardinals added No. 4 pick Marvin Harrison Jr. to the fold, but Murray still lacks a proven receiver room. He has also proven to be too injury prone to justify his 2924 Fantasy football ADP, with the model ranking him behind four quarterbacks who are available later in drafts.
