2024 Week 2 NFL picks, odds, best bets from advanced model: This 5-way football parlay would pay 25-1

Another week, another playoff rematch for Detroit, which will face the last year's Divisional opponent, the Buccaneers, on Sunday after beating last season's Wild Card opponent, the Rams, a week ago. The Lions are favored by seven points over Tampa in the latest Week 2 NFL odds, despite the Buccaneers being one of the most impressive teams in Week 1. The game's over/under of 51 is the highest on the Week 2 NFL schedule, so making NFL best bets on the spread and the total could be attractive for Week 2 NFL parlay picks.
Last season's Divisional contest saw the Lions win and cover, while the Over hit. However, the Lions covered last week versus the Rams after L.A. covered in their playoff matchup a year ago. How much should results from the last Lions vs. Buccaneers game matter to you with Week 2 NFL straight-up picks and NFL picks against the spread? Before you make any Week 2 NFL picks or NFL parlays, be sure to see the NFL predictions and betting advice from SportsLine's proven computer model .
The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up well over $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season on an incredible 184-130 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. It is also on a 38-22 roll on top-rated NFL picks since Week 7 of 2022.
The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.
After simulating every game 10,000 times, the model is high on the Kansas City Chiefs (-6) to cover at home against the Cincinnati Bengals . The Bengals were dominated in the trenches in their Week 1 loss to New England. Cincy's 70 rushing yards were the third-fewest by any team, while the 170 rushing yards it allowed were the sixth-most of the week. The Chiefs' offense revolves around Patrick Mahomes' right arm, but the Bengals also making it easy for Kansas City to run the ball would make their offense nearly unstoppable.
As for Cincy's lack of a ground game, that not being a factor would then allow Kansas City to focus its efforts on Joe Burrow. The Chiefs boasted the No. 4 passing defense last year, so it's already elite in defending through the air, and Cincy's passing offense has regressed with Tyler Boyd gone and Tee Higgins a game-time decision after missing Week 1. With that, SportsLine's model has Mahomes throwing for nearly 100 more yards than Burrow, which allows Kansas City to win by double-digits and cover (-6) almost 60% of the time.
