Flavor Flav had a surprise for United States gymnast Jordan Chiles during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.

Flav and Chiles were on stage to present the award for best collaboration when the rapper decided to call an audible and honor Chiles by giving her a bronze clock.

"I just want to turn this into a little Olympic moment for a second, if you don't mind," Flav said. "I know they tried to take your medal away. But you know what? I got you something that they can't take away from you."

Flav then pulled out a shimmering bronze clock and put it around the neck of Chiles.

The crowd cheered as Flav presented Chiles with her very own blinged-out bronze clock, similar in style to his signature accessory.

"Wow, I don't even know what to say here," Chiles said.

During the floor exercise final at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Chiles had been awarded a score of 13.666, which included a deduction of a tenth of a point due to an improper split leap. That score ended up putting her in fifth place behind Romanian gymnasts Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea. Both Barbosu and Maneca-Voinea tallied scores of 13.700.

Chiles' coach, Cecile Landi, submitted a formal appeal for the deduction, and the judges ended up agreeing with the appeal. Chiles' score was changed to 13.766, vaulting her into third place ahead of Barbosu and Maneca-Voinea.

The Romanian Gymnastics Federation believed the late ruling wasn't fair, so they escalated the issue to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. They claimed that Landi submitted the scoring inquiry four seconds past the allowed time.

Just days after the competition, CAS ruled that the scoring inquiry occurred too late, and Chiles would be stripped of her bronze medal as a result. USA Gymnastics, for its part, stated it had video evidence that the scoring inquiry was made inside of the allowed time.

If I were her, I would cherish this thoughtful gift from Flava Flav a HECK of a lot more than anything the deplorable IOC may have taken back!
