For the second straight week, there will be two games on Monday Night Football. The Detroit Lions (2-1) will host the Seattle Seahawks (3-0) in the second game, and the primetime battle may have seeding implications late in the season for the NFC. The Seahawks lead the all-time series 13-5 over the Lions and have won six straight games. In the last meeting in 2023, Seattle beat Detroit, 37-31 in overtime.
Kickoff from Ford Field in Detroit is set for 8:15 p.m. ET. Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is a crafty route-runner who has hands like glue to secure any pass. St. Brown excels in the short and intermediate areas of the field. The USC product is tied for fourth in the league in receptions (21) and has 207 yards and one touchdown. Last week, the 24-year-old had seven receptions for 75 yards and his lone touchdown. Why the Seahawks can cover
Seattle has a bevy of capable playmakers who can make an impact in any matchup. Receiver DK Metcalf stands at 6-foot-4, but owns the speed to take the top off the defense. The two-time Pro Bowler is seventh in the NFL in receiving yards (262) with 17 receptions and two touchdowns. He's gone over 100 yards in back-to-back games. On Sept. 22 versus the Dolphins, Metcalf had four grabs for 104 yards and one touchdown.
Receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is a smooth and nimble route-runner. He thrives in the slot and will eat up targets underneath. The Ohio State product has logged 17 catches for 175 yards, and 10.3 yards per reception. He's gone over 50 yards six times in his career. In Week 2, Smith-Njigba has 12 receptions for 117 yards.
