LEBANON, Ind. — An Indy man is facing several charges after ramming into four vehicles during a police pursuit in Lebanon Thursday afternoon.

Officers with the Lebanon Police Department responded around 2:47 p.m. to the 300 block of N. Lebanon Street after receiving reports that a stolen vehicle had been observed in the area.

LPD said officers arrived on the scene and observed the suspect vehicle exiting from an apartment complex before turning northbound on Lebanon Street. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Christian Brown of Indianapolis, allegedly ignored attempts by officers to conduct a traffic stop and continued fleeing.

During this pursuit, LPD said Brown side-swiped an uninvolved citizen’s vehicle, causing minor damage. The pursuit continued as Brown led officers to the area of Lafayette Avenue and Windhaven Lane where he approached a dead end.

LPD said Brown turned the vehicle around and drove directly toward the path of the responding officers, striking a Boone County Sheriff’s Office patrol car in the process.

The suspect continued driving southbound on Windhaven Lane before it crashed into an LPD vehicle, LPD said. The pursuit continued as Brown led authorities southbound on Lafayette Avenue where he collided with another uninvolved citizen’s vehicle.

The pursuit finally reached its conclusion near the State Road 32 and I-65 overpass as the suspect vehicle was successfully boxed in by police and deputies, according to LPD.

Once the suspect vehicle came to a complete stop, LPD said Brown refused to comply with their instructions and remained inside the car. Officers opted to force entry to the car and placed Brown under arrest.

Brown was brought to Witham Memorial Hospital for medical clearance before being transported to the Boone County Jail where he faces the following preliminary charges:

    • Auto theft – Felony
    • Resisting law Enforcement w/ a vehicle – Felony
    • Two counts of battery on law enforcement – Felony
    • Criminal recklessness w/ a vehicle – Felony
    • Four counts of leaving the scene of a property damage accident – Misdemeanor
