Police say shoplifters stole hundreds of dollars worth of baby monitors, diapers

FISHERS, Ind. — A man and woman who walked out of Hamilton County department stores with thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods are now behind bars.

Anita Kendra Hannah, 29, of Muncie and Jordan Cole Perry, 31, of Hartford City are charged with theft, a Level 6 felony.

Court documents reveal that police were called to a Noblesville Meijer about a theft that occurred on Jan. 8. Police said surveillance video shows Hannah and Perry walking out of the store with 17 unpaid for items. The total worth of these stolen goods was said to be $1,295.06.

On Sept. 21, police were called to a Target in Fishers where two individuals were spotted on camera walking out of the department store with more than $1,300 in merchandise.

Police traced the license plate number of the suspects’ vehicle back to Hannah, who matched the description of one of the suspects caught on camera.

Police said items stolen from the Target included hundreds of dollars worth of baby monitors along with Huggies diapers and a diaper bag. A face trimmer was also stolen along with a large bag of dog food.

This isn’t the first time Hannah and Perry have been in trouble with the law, or the first time either has taken what doesn’t belong to them.

Court records reveal that Perry is also charged with theft in Allen County from a May 16 incident. He’s also charged with resisting law enforcement in Delaware County on May 21 after police were called to a Village Pantry gas station on reports of two people passed out in a car.

Perry ended up driving away from the scene despite officers shouting at him to stay put, a police report reveals.

Hannah, meanwhile, pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary in 2019 and was sentenced to four years in prison. A report by the Star Press in 2018 states that Hannah, along with a Blackford County man, broke into three separate homes and stole four guns and more than $4,000 in cash.

Hannah and Perry are both currently in custody in the Delaware County Jail after being arrested on warrants for their department store thefts. They face up to two and a half years in prison.
