    1 dead after crash in Tippecanoe County

    TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. — Police are investigating after an individual crashed into several trees and died on Friday, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office.

    Authorities were dispatched at 1:42 a.m. on Friday on a report of a crash in the 1400 block E of 725 N. Upon arrival, deputies found a single vehicle crash. The driver, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The preliminary investigation indicated that a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle was traveling on County Road 725 N. The vehicle ran off the roadway as it entered the 1700-block and struck several trees. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and received fatal injures.

    The name of the driver has not been released. Toxicology results are pending.

    This crash remains under investigation. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
