    IMPD announces road closures ahead of Taylor Swift’s Indy visit

    INDIANAPOLIS — With Taylor Swift making her way to Indy November 1-3 for the Eras Tour, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is advising drivers to watch for road “closure” (no, not the song off of “Evermore”).

    According to IMPD, traffic in Indianapolis will be heavier than usual. The department suggested planning ahead, allowing extra time to get downtown and considering rideshare options or public transport such as IndyGo to avoid parking congestion.

    The map below provides a visual of the closures. Continue reading to see the specific times and areas in which they will be closed.

    Per IMPD, the following list of roads that will be closed from November 1-4.

    • South St. between Capitol Ave. and Missouri St. from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
    • All four spokes on Monument Circle from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • South St. between Pennsylvania St and Delaware St. from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Washington St. between Illinois St. and Capitol Ave. from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Maryland St. between West St. and Capitol Ave. from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Missouri St between Washington St and Maryland St. No southbound. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.
    • Capitol Ave from Washington St. to South St. from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Georgia St between Illinois St and Capitol Ave No westbound. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • South St. between Capitol Ave and Pennsylvania St. from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Kentucky Ave from South St. to Morris St. No northbound or eastbound. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • McCarty St. between West St. and Missouri St. from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • McCarty St. and Capitol Ave. No eastbound or westbound. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • McCarty St. and Illinois St. No northbound. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • McCarty St. and Russell Ave. No northbound. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • McCarty St. and Madison Ave. No eastbound from Madison Ave. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Missouri St and Morris St. No northbound. This will take place from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

    The following exits will also be closed:

    • I-70 eastbound at West St exit 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • I-70 westbound at West St exit 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • I-70 eastbound at Illinois St/Meridian St. exit 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • I-70 westbound at Meridian St. exit 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

    IMPD then added a couple of traffic diversions that will take place during the following times:

    • No southbound traffic on Missouri St. between Washington St. and Maryland St: 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Southbound West St at South St will be diverted to Kentucky Ave: 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

    Following that, they provided the locations of two rideshare pickup zones:

    • South St in between Missouri St. to West St.: 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
    • Delaware and South: 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. This will also serve as a parent pickup lot.

    IMPD reminded drivers to be on the lookout for no-parking zones throughout the downtown area. Vehicles parked in these zones may be towed.

    Officers from the department will have a significant presence downtown for the event, especially around Lucas Oil Stadium, Monument Circle and the Indiana Convention Center, IMPD said.
