SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. — Two people are dead after a reported shooting on Sunday afternoon, according to officials with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.

At around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, deputies with the department, along with the Moral Township Fire Department and the Shelbyville Fire Department, responded to a home on the 7100 block of N. Christopher Lane on a shots fired call.

When deputies arrived on scene, the department said they found two men who were nonresponsive. The men were identified as a 39-year-old from Wanamaker and a 28-year-old from Fountaintown.

The two men were later pronounced dead by the Shelby County Coroner’s Office. Officials with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department said no other subjects were found in the home and they believe it was “an isolated incident with no other suspects…”

“The investigation is ongoing, with no further comment at this time,” the office said.
