A jury opted to dismiss some charges against a pickup truck driver involved in a crash that left a big rig dangling off of a Louisville bridge earlier this year.

Pickup driver Trevor Branham, 33, was charged with four felony counts of wanton endangerment and one count of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Last week, a Jefferson County grand jury found that there was insufficient evidence of Branham “engaging in conduct creating a substantial danger or serious physical injury” to move forward on the wanton endangerment charges, according to WDRB . The suspended license charge was moved to a district court.

The charges were issued in connection with a dramatic crash that occurred on March 1, 2024, on the Clark Memorial Bridge over the Ohio River between Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky that began with an electric vehicle stalling on the bridge.

Branham was allegedly operating a Chevrolet C1500 southbound on the bridge at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, when he struck the stalled EV, according to witnesses.

The Chevrolet C1500 then entered the northbound lanes where it struck another car, then collided with a Sysco semi truck driven by Sydney Thomas, 26, sending the truck crashing into support beam then through the bridge guardrail.

Thomas was trapped in the cab dangling 100 feet over the Ohio River for about 45 minutes before she was rescued by first responders with the Louisville Fire Department.

Thomas was hospitalized following the crash.

Take a look at dash cam video of the crash below.

He’s guilty as sin. How could he get by with this. He clearly was responsible for all of it. Now who’s going to pay for all the damage? Obviously he doesn’t have insurance hell he didn’t have a driver’s license.
