Trucking company pleads guilty to felony charge after removing emissions monitors from diesel trucks

A trucking company recently pleaded guilty to a felony charge after working with an at-home mechanic to remove emissions monitors from their diesel trucks.

Frock Brothers Trucking Inc. of Oxford Township, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty to violating the Clean Air Act and entered a plea deal brought by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

According to Evening Sun News , the company worked with Leon Martin, a mechanic who worked out of his own home, between November 13th and December 28th, 2018 to disable or remove emission control components from their fleet of eight Kenworth diesel trucks.

The emissions control systems are mandated by the Clean Air Act to cut down on emissions and monitor emissions.

Frock Brothers Trucking pleaded guilty to one count of violating the Clean Air Act. Martin pleaded guilty to one count of felony violation of the Clean Air Act and a second count of felony conspiracy.

An arraignment and plea hearing in the case is scheduled for October 2nd, 2024. Prosecutors recommend that the company pay an $80,000 fine and be placed on probation for two years.
