A man was arrested on Sunday following an armed robbery, a semi truck police pursuit, and a collision with a building in Boerne, Texas, police say.

Eric Lee Hudson, 42, was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle and Theft (greater than $30,000 but less than $150,000), according to the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).

Around 11:15 a.m. on October 6, KCSO deputies were dispatched to IH-10 eastbound, in the area of the Kimble/Kerr County line for a reported armed robbery. Deputies were advised by the Kimble County Sheriff’s Office that the suspect fled east in a white semi truck and trailer stolen out of California.

KCSO deputies located the truck and initiated a traffic stop on IH-10 at mile marker 523.

Police say that the driver later identified as Hudson initially pulled over, but then refused to exit the truck, and continued back eastbound on IH-10.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office successfully deployed spike strips and deflated the truck’s front tires.

Near mile marker 535, the truck crossed the median and entered the eastbound frontage road.

The driver lost control of the semi truck near mile marker 537 while navigating a curve. The semi truck collided with Lockaway Storage facility on the north side of Boerne.

    No injuries were reported.

Hudson was taken into police custody.

KCSO recovered a cash drawer from the armed robbery.

“Our teams collaborated well with other departments to end this pursuit and bring a dangerous suspect to justice. Our close relationship with neighboring counties is bad news for criminals trying to evade any jurisdiction on the Interstate,” said Sheriff Larry L. Leitha. “This kind of reckless behavior not only endangers the robbery victims and law enforcement, but many innocent travelers in the path of an unpredictable suspect. The stakes are even higher considering the mass of a tractor trailer compared to passenger vehicles. Our team did a great job intercepting and staying with this threat to public safety until the suspect was in custody.”
