Elderly man lying in road for quite some time before semi truck eventually hit him, witnesses say

A man is dead after getting run over by a semi truck while lying in the middle of a road in San Antonio early on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on Sunday, October 20th at around 5:25 a.m. at the corner of Rittiman Road and the Interstate 35 Northbound Access Road.

According to News4SanAntonio , a 69-year-old man was lying in the roadway, forcing multiple cars to swerve to avoid hitting him. Eventually a tractor trailer traveling on the roadway was unable to avoid the man and hit him.

The truck driver remained at the scene, and the man was pronounced dead.

The victim has not yet been identified. It is unclear why the man was in the roadway, and the incident is still under investigation. No further information has been released.
