Happening this week in and around Cecil County:

What used to be Fox Hollow Coffee in North East is now Dunkin’, according to company officials.

Marc Charleston is the owner of this new location and five other Dunkin’s, including one right down the road in North East Plaza Shopping Center. This new Dunkin’ is drive thru-only, largely because of the size of the existing footprint, Charleston said. It’s located in College Station Shopping Center at 3135 Joseph Biggs Memorial Highway.

“The new Next Gen restaurant offers North East a first-hand look at Dunkin’s store of the future experience, with a modern design that provides a fresh, friendly, vibrant, and engaging environment,” an official company statement said of the newest franchise.

Charleston said customers will find all their favorites that are already on the menu at any other Dunkin’.

“We have all the beverages, all the sandwiches, all the bakery products,” he said, adding that includes Muchkins.

Charleston’s 7th Dunkin will be on Route 1 at Route 222 in Conowingo.

“It’s about a year out,” he said.

There were two Fox Hollow Coffee shops in Cecil County. The first — which opened in the early 2000s — closed in 2018 after a rash of arson fires caused $25,000 in damage to the shop on Route 40 at Maloney Road in Elkton. The North East Fox Hollow opened in 2010.

Hours of operation at the College Station Dunkin’ are 4:30 a.m to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

A little rain did not stop Unicorn Quest, held annually by the North East Chamber of Commerce.

Organizers quickly pivoted, moving some booths under the cover of Aspen Property Management. Neil DeMatt with the Barker Team of Integrity Real Estate and chairman of Unicorn Quest, Meredith Boas with Grunge Muffin Designs, Emily Horne with Twisted Vine Wedding & Event Florals and Kathy Jamison from Silver & Sassy were credited with swiftly re-arranging times for performances to keep the quest moving in spite of the weather.
