ELKTON — Brush Arbor Gospel Ministries has become a delivery hub for the Maryland Food Bank.

The church at 768 Blue Ball Road in Elkton received a $89,905 MFB grant over the summer to expand and improve its existing food pantry building. By doing so the church can now help smaller feeding programs in Cecil County by having their food bank purchases delivered to Elkton instead of driving to the Baltimore area for pick up.

Jenni Sparks, spokeswoman for Brush Arbor Gospel Ministries, said the money was used to completely pave the church parking lot and finish concrete work to allow for the better use of pallet jacks to unload the MFB trucks.

Sparks said officials with the Maryland Food Bank will decide which organizations are able to use the service. It will allow these smaller non profits to save money on shipping because of their smaller orders.
