Tri County Northeast couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers at home by a 34-20 margin on Friday. Tri County Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Jorgensen, who rushed for 62 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 42 yards and a touchdown. Chadron Cross Country Competes In Scottsbluff
The Chadron Cardinals boys and girls cross country teams opened up their season in Scottsbluff on Thursday evening. The boys team had 12 runners in the race and were led by freshman Braylon Branson who ran a 19:10 to pace the Chadron runners, finishing in 15th. Henrich Rider finished 25th with a time of 19:47. Maxx Stewart (21:12), Brayden Landerth (21:55), Samson Sprague (21:55), and Sam Kuhl (22:12) rounded out the varsity runners in the boys race.
Blue Earth biker rides in his eighth RAGBRAI
Back in July, Dave Kittleson, of Blue Earth, hopped on his bicycle one morning and peddled the 200 miles southwest to the Iowa town of Glenwood. It took him five days to get there. He left on July 15 and arrived on July 19. He went through Spirit Lake then to Storm Lake, Audubon, Red Oak and finally, Glenwood.
