Rod Hollman receives Defending the Soil Award
Rod Hollman of Hollman Angus Farm near Martell, Nebraska, is the 2024 recipient of the Nebraska Marine Daegan William-Tyeler Page Defending the Soil Memorial Award. The award was presented during the Graze Master Group Paths to Profitability event held in Denton, Nebraska July 24. Greg Page, Corporal Daegan Page’s father, was in attendance to help present the award.

Teens charged after twice burglarizing home in northeast Lincoln, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Three Lincoln teens are facing charges after a home was burglarized twice in a few months. Prosecutors have charged 18-year-old Andrew Minzel with burglary and possession of a stolen firearm, and he was arrested on Wednesday. Two other 17-year-old boys have also been charged in the case. They face an assortment of theft, burglary and weapons charges.
Parking Garage Goes Vertical at 72nd & Mercy
Construction has gone vertical on a parking garage that will serve a future apartment building at 7101 Mercy Road. The 4-story apartment building will have 200 apartment units. The new structures sit on a 3.5-acre site immediately east of the recently completed Community Alliance building. Late last year, crews tore down a 3-story, brick building on the site to make way for the new development.

LINCOLN — Nebraska renters would get some financial relief in the form of an income tax credit under a pair of proposals to be considered by the Legislature. State Sens. Terrell McKinney of North Omaha and Eliot Bostar of Lincoln each introduced a bill Thursday seeking to compensate renters who otherwise would not automatically reap any direct benefit from property tax reforms being pushed by Gov.
