Time to raise a glass to local brewing.

Fans of Stickmen Brewing Company will be happy to hear that the brewing company plans on opening its Cedar Mill location at 12099 S.W. Barnes Road in July.

Lauren Satterfield, Stickmen director of sales and marketing, said the construction delays and a focus on opening its McMinnville location — given that the building there was ready to go — have delayed the opening of the Cedar Hills site, which will be located across the street from Market of Choice.

“We're very excited to finally get Cedar Mill open and to join the community that has been patiently awaiting our taproom,” Satterfield said. “Our Cedar Mill location will be a 5,000-square-foot family-friendly taproom with a pet-friendly covered patio. Our menu will reflect our other locations with wood-fired pizzas, salads, apps, 28 taps, wine, cider and cocktails.”

After serving brews for 11 years, Stickmen closed its original Lake Oswego brewery in January, citing a struggle during winter months. That same month, Lake Oswego Stickmen Brewing Company owner Tim Schoenheit said the company needed to focus on its future and that ensuring all its “current and future locations aligned with the same concept and standards, just made sense.”

At the time, Stickmen officials noted that it does most of its beer production in the Tualatin facility, in the beer hall which opened in 2016 and expanded a short time later. (That 19475 S.W. 118th Ave. Suite 1 location also is the site of the annual Pumpkins and Pints, where the Pacific Giant Vegetable Growers Terminator Weigh-Off takes place in October, the day before Tualatin’s Giant West Coast Pumpkin Regatta.)

Over the last several years, the Cedar Mill area has become home to several new taprooms including Wildwood Taphouse, across from the Cedar Mill Public Library, and Great Notion Brewing, a few doors down from the Beaverton Market of Choice in the Timberland Town Center.

Stickmen Brewing Company beers have won awards over the years, including its Lake Oswego Pub I Heart Wood 2019 IPA and its F-Bomb IPA.
