Campfires temporarily banned at Oregon State Parks due to wildfire risk | See list
PORTLAND, Ore. — Campfires have been temporarily banned at most Oregon State Parks as firefighting resources are strained across the state in fighting wildfires. Campfires and open flames are banned at all parks east of the Cascades and in the Willamette Valley due to dry conditions and risk of wildfires, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department said.

Sustainability-focused organization awarded grant
The Portland-based International Living Future Institute will receive an approximately $4.7 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The selections of 38 recipients of grants totaling nearly $160 million were announced by the EPA on Thursday. Victims in deadly shooting at Portland boat ramp publicly ID’d by police
Portland police on Tuesday publicly identified the two men who were shot and killed at a boat ramp on Marine Drive on July 13. Jmeire Asher, 18, of Portland, and Deangelo Augustus, 38, of Salem, were killed around 8 p.m. at the M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp, Portland Police Bureau said in a statement.
