Arrest made after pursuit Monday
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Monday at approximately 3:20 p.m., agents with the Department of Corrections Enforcement, Apprehension, and Investigation (EAI) Task Force located a wanted subject, James M. Smith, 36, of Hutchinson, near 11th Ave and Severance Street. Before they were able to make contact, Smith left the area in a vehicle and fled from officers with Hutchinson Police Department. Officers did not pursue Smith at that time due to Smith’s history of fleeing from law enforcement.
2024 BLUEJAY FOOTBALL SCHEDULE SET
HILLSBORO, Kan. – The 2024 Tabor College Bluejay Football schedule has been set. This season marks the second season of the new divisional format in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) and the second season for the Bluejays as members of the KCAC's Bissell Division. This will be the final year for the current divisional setup, as the divisions will realign based on competitive results from the last two seasons.

Wichita man sentenced to 13 years in jail for dismembering cats, other charges
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A 31-year-old Wichita man has been sentenced to 13 years in the county jail for dismembering cats and domestic-related charges. The Sedgwick County district attorney's office said Judge Eric Williams on Monday sentenced Logan Cavender to one year for each of the 13 counts and ran the sentenced consecutively. Cavender pleaded no contest in May to 10 felony counts of animal cruelty, two misdemeanor counts of stalking and a misdemeanor count of breach of privacy.
