Monday is the last day the Rocky Mount Animal Services will be offering free pet adoptions at its animal shelter on Church Street. Driver cited after crashing into Emerald Isle ambulance
MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. — Morehead City officials say a person has been cited after crashing into an ambulance Friday evening. According to investigators Morehead City Police and Fire-EMS responded to a collision involving an Emerald Isle ambulance and car around 10 P.M. Friday evening. Authorities say that crash happened at the intersection of Highways 70 and 24. Investigators say there was only a driver in the car, and inside the ambulance there two were EIFD employees, and a patient. They also added that only minor injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.

NCSU settles legal disagreement with former Poe Hall student, worker
North Carolina State University and a former grad student end employee have resolved a legal dispute related to the Poe Hall shutdown, according to a court filing Friday. NCSU has asked the state Supreme Court to lift a stay in the case. That action would allow a trial judge to throw out an earlier ruling favoring Darren Masier in his legal action against the university.
