Dubuque Woman Charged With Assaulting Man With Bat
A Dubuque woman was arrested following an incident where she allegedly beat a man with a baseball bat. Dubuque Police say it happened Thursday morning outside of a home in the 14-hundred block of Locust Street. 36-year old Tamara Weeks is charged with willful injury causing bodily injury. According to authorities, Weeks struck a man identified as Ryan Devore in the head with a bat. Police met with Devore who was suffering from a laceration to the left side of his head.

Fire crews work quickly to prevent flames from burning through home
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A fire in Cedar Rapids was quickly contained, preventing it from spreading further into a home. Crews were called to the 600 block of Weaver Street Northwest just before 5:30pm Sunday. When they arrived, they found the flames coming from a back porch, damaging some siding. Fire crews were able to bring the flames under control before significant damage was done to the interior of the home. No one was hurt, but the residents have been displaced as a result of the damage.
