Mr. Howard was born on December 19, 1936 in Waco, Georgia. He is the son of the late William & Iva S. Howard.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a brilliant man and the head of Research & Development Department at ZBird Poultry until he retired at age 70. He was a man of God with high moral character.
He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandkids. After retiring, he found joy tending to his yard, beautiful roses and bird sanctuary.
He is survived by his loving wife Becky Hicks Howard; Children: Anthony Howard (Debbie), Tracy Howard (Angela), Resa H. Roberts (Lamar), Lori H. Rushing (Bart); Grandchildren: Alan Howard (Jessica), Blake Howard (Anissa), John Eric Howard (Brookelyn), David Thompson (Danette), Katie Thompson, Neal Beeler (Kandace), Ashley Beeler; Great Grandchildren Hannah & Micah Howard, Mila & Ezra Howard, Bentley & Riggs Howard, Robin, Hazel, Naomi & Edith Thompson, Taylor Truett, River & Ridge Beeler. He is also survived by his siblings Joe Howard and Martha Abney (Rip). His late siblings were Mary Miller, Herschel Howard, J. T. Howard, Doris Timms, Harold Howard, and Nancy Dingler Rudeseal.
The family will receive friends at Smith & Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday July 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM with the funeral following in the chapel at 3:00 PM.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Alan Howard, Blake Howard, John Eric Howard, David Thompson, Neal Beeler, Hugo Veliz.
