PSD campuses set to host open house events on August

Students and parents are being welcomed to campuses coming up ahead of the start of the school year in early August as the Open House events have been announced.

PSD posted on Wednesday on social media that dates for their campuses to welcome families to visit new classrooms and learn the lay of the land at schools across the district.

The Elementary Schools – Cherokee, Eastside, Northside, Van Wert, Westside and Youngs Grove – will be hosting the Open House events on August 5 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Cedartown and Rockmart Middle Schools will also be hosting Open House on August 5, with seventh and eighth graders asked to report first from 4 to 6 p.m., and sixth graders coming in from 6 to 7 p.m.

The district has also scheduled Freshmen Academy for both Cedartown and Rockmart High Schools for August 6 for rising ninth graders.

Only students are asked to come for a two-hour session from 3 to 5 p.m., with parents joining for a combined session for an hour from 5 to 6 p.m.

Additional dates and times will be posted on the school websites and social media for the sophomore through senior classes to grab their schedules for the coming fall semester of the school year.

Parents were also given a list of supplies needed for elementary school students for the coming 2024-25 academic year.
