Whale sightings unusually high for NJ. What’s the cause?
Viking Yacht Company, out of Burlington County, took to Facebook days ago to share about “unusually high numbers” of North Atlantic Right Whales around the region. Sightings have been identified in the New York Bight from the Block Canyon to the Hudson Canyon, according to the Asbury Park Press.

A 2.2 magnitude earthquake rattled part of New Jersey early Wednesday, the strongest tremor to hit this state this month. The earthquake was centered about 3.1 miles east of Califon, Hunterdon County, N.J., not far from Easton, Pa. It hit at about 1:44 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
