Frankston came in as preseason favorite to win Region 2 and Joaquin picked to be last in their district but this game ended up offering the onhand crowd an entertaining night of competitive football.

Frankston jumped on the Rams early with a 10-0 lead from a pass-heavy attack.

Joaquin quickly answered back with a good mix of run and pass to make it 10-7. Frankston came back immediately with another score but the Rams blocked the ensuing PAT and ran it back for 2 pts by Tate Bass bringing the score to 16-9 in favor of the Indians.

Joaquin would quickly answer with a score of their own to knot it up at 16-16.

The Rams covered an onside kick and took advantage of the opportunity with a 45yd pass from Brown to Bragg to jump ahead 23-16.

Frankston would answer back before half with a score of their own to even the contest at 23-23 apiece going into the locker room. Rams got the ball coming back from the half and scored on their first possession to go up 30-23. Both defenses struggled to get stops in a 3rd qtr that lasted 45 minutes.

The Rams started enforcing their will on the Indians with a heavy power run game with the occasional pass to throw the defense off balance for the remainder of the game. Joaquin managed to stay ahead by two scores the majority of the 2nd with a valiant effort from Elijah Hardison at FB and an offensive line that was taking the will from the Indian defenders.

Holes were huge to run through for the RBs of Joaquin and Tate Bass, Dallon Jordan, Elijah Hardison and Cooper Bragg made the Indian defense pay the ultimate price with a good night dagger TD run of 45yds to put the Rams up 21 with only a couple minutes to play. Max Garvin kicked PATs extremely well on the night and the Rams came out victorious 65-44 in week 1.
