Teresa Phillips inspired many special sections published through the years—indeed, there are too many to list. But this one, well, it’s special.

“If the information you can publish will help just one person, then I don’t care how many ads you sell. Just get the information out there. Do it now, and do it every year,” she urged.

Teresa Phillips passed away on January 27, 2023, from Colon Cancer.

In her name, the Light and Champion is busy preparing this special section for publication on September 26.

The section itself will be filled with valuable information not only on Breast Cancer (October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month) but on many different types of Cancer, treatments, symptoms, and so much more.

There are several ways you can be a part of this section. Of course, advertising space is available, but the Light and Champion are also looking for local inspirational stories to add to the Cancer Awareness 2024 special section. If you want to share your story with the newspaper, we welcome the opportunity to help others learn.

The Light and Champion want to thank the American Cancer Society. The wealth of information, resources, and help this organization has to offer is overwhelming. Still, Cancer is overwhelming, and the American Cancer Society has been fighting it and helping people from all walks of life since 1913.
