Wallace Chapel plans homecoming and revival News Staff Thu, 06/29/2023 - 05:34 Image Body The Wallace Chapel Baptist Church welcomes everyone to their Annual “Homecoming and Revival” Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. The theme will be “Ain’t No Place Like Home.” Luke 15:11-24 will be the theme scripture. The speaker will be Reverend Charleston Johnson from the First Smyrna United Missionary Baptist Church in Timpson. Revival services will be at 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night July 5, 6, 7. The evangelist will be Bishop Patrick O’Keith Grace, Sr. from the Mount Zion Baptist Church in San Augustine. The Wallace Chapel Baptist Church is located at 109 South Marcus Street in Timpson. Reverend Derrick Rhodes is the pastor. Sister LaQuista Garrett is the secretary.

Learning sessions for girls 6th – 12th grade and boys 6th and 7th grades will include skills challenge, ‘basketball 101,’ offense, defense. Events will include scrimmages, games, prizes, and meals. Still time for Broiler Show chick orders News Staff Thu, 06/29/2023 - 05:34 Image Body There’s still time before the July 6 deadline to order Broiler Show chicks for this year’s East Texas Poultry Festival. Order a pen of 30 chicks now for $30. Show rules and paperwork may be picked-up at the Extension office at 266 Nacogdoches St. (Old Elementary School Library Bldg.). All orders are due no later than July 6th, and are payable by check or money order only. The date for pick-up of show chickens will be announced at a later time. Contact Lane Dunn, Shelby County Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources with questions about participating in the 4-H Poultry project or learning what is involved in showing and raising chickens as a 4-H member.
