Rodeo planned for April 26-27 News Staff Thu, 04/18/2024 - 05:17 Image Body The Shelby County Pro Rodeo kicks off nightly Friday, April 26 and Saturday April 27 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, “Pre-Rodeo team roping” books open at 5 p.m. and close at 6 p.m. Both Friday and Saturday night will feature Mutton Busting. Sign up at 5:30 p.m. and ride at 6 p.m. each night. Also, in the fun each night is a calf scramble and a special trick riding performance. Saturday night, a mechanical bull will be available for the true rodeo experience. Hometown barrels will be run nightly as well, that’s Shelby County’s local cowgirls in their competition. Pre-purchase tickets at Boles Feed, Loop 500 Feed, Shelby Savings Bank, Farmers State Bank, and Wright Chrysler Dodge.

The storm included numerous thunderstorms with some hail. Unofficial reports of more than 10 inches in three days in some places were recorded. Although rain was subsiding, another round was forecast at press time Wednesday and flash flood alerts remained in place.
