Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage News Staff Wed, 01/10/2024 - 20:16 Image Body Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society welcomes Cecil Whitton as the speaker January 17 at 2 p.m. in the Timpson Public Library annex. An avid metal detecting enthusiast, Whitton will share the joys of metal detecting and some of the specimens he has found. The father of our own Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society member, Zoie Whitton, Cecil is a Shelby County native who has lived in Timpson since 1969. He met his wife, the late Kay Rhodes Witton, at Timpson school, from which he is a graduate. Members of the public in Timpson and surrounding areas are welcome.

Joaquin student named to SNHU President’s List News Staff Wed, 01/10/2024 - 20:16 Image Body Terri Nugent of Joaquin has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s (SNHU) Fall 2023 President’s List. The fall terms run from September to December. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired 8-week terms grouped in fall, winter/ spring, and summer. Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is a private, nonprofit institution with a 91-year history of educating traditional- aged students and working adults. SNHU offers approximately 200 accredited undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs, available online and on its 300-acre campus in Manchester, NH. Learn more at www.snhu.edu.
