Dow’s $785M investment in Great Lakes Bay Region lands state support
Michigan is supporting Dow Chemical Company’s effort to invest $785 million in upgrading two Michigan facilities. The Michigan Strategic Fund awarded Dow a $120 million grant during its Tuesday, July 23 board meeting to secure the investment in the Great Lakes Bay Region. The state board also approved a 15-year State Essential Services Assessment property tax break valued at $25 million and extended a Renaissance Zone tax incentive for another 10 years.

BRIMLEY, MI — Jason Smith and Simon Freeman dragged a long green seine net through the Whitefish Bay shallows and began to survey their catch. Sifting through the net, the two Bay Mills tribal biologists picked out multiple small silvery minnows; juvenile whitefish sheltering in the shallows.
