POCATELLO — Don’t be late! Just follow the white rabbit over to the Leavitt's Center presentation of "Alice in Wonderland."

All the curious characters of Lewis Caroll’s 'Alice in Wonderland" will be brought to life on stage by a talented cast of young adults and children who have been preparing for the show for two weeks. The Leavitt Center is located at 1030 E. Sublette St.

“We open July 10 and we perform July 10, 11, 12 and 13, with a matinee at 2 p.m. as well on July 13,” said Kathleen Bills, the director of the Leavitt Center's "Alice in Wonderland" production. “We also are hosting two pre-show events, which will be 'Alice in Wonderland' themed tea parties that will be super fun. We'll have meet-and-greets with Alice herself. We will have games, activities, crafts and we'll have a catered meal as well. It's going to be very family-friendly and kid-oriented. We hope that we'll be able to get lots of families to come to our pre-show event and then come and see the show immediately following afterward.”

The preshow festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. on July 12 and 12:30 p.m. on July 13, an hour-and-a-half before the nightly shows. The special tea parties cost $30 for an individual ticket or $25 each for a party of four or more. The actual "Alice in Wonderland" theater play will cost $10 for pre-sale and $15 at the door and will begin at 7 p.m. each night of the event.

“I think the most important thing that I want people to know is how impressed I have been with these kids,” Bills said. “We have only had two weeks to put an entire show together, and they have risen up to the challenge. They continue to amaze me every day with their hard work, their dedication, their talents and their focus — it really has impressed me. I'm so proud of them and so grateful for our amazing production team that have worked so hard to make this happen. We have a wonderful show that has come together and I can't wait to share it with the community.”
