Farmers State Bank announces photography contest winners

A total of 58 entries were received from White House, Lufkin, Milam, Center, Shelbyville and Tenaha photographers.

An awards reception will be Monday, July 1, at 10 a.m. in the main lobby of Farmers State Bank’s corporate location at 115 Shelbyville Street in Center.

The public is invited to view the entries and vote for the “People’s Choice” award through July 5, in the lobby of the bank now.

Winners by category and title include: Landscape/Nature Category, First Place Danny Pickens “Framed in Time,” Fine Art Category, First Place Place B.J. Wood “Reflections,” Human Interest Category, First Place Julie Cantrell-Green “Autumn Daze,” Spirit of Texas Category, First Place: Danny Pickens “Texas Proud,” Best in Show Category winner was Danny Pickens “Framed in Time.”

Judging was by Leon Aldridge, publisher of the Light and Champion newspaper in Center. Aldridge has 50 years in media related endeavors from newspapers.
